There is so much to be grateful for!
Every year I count down the days, hours and minutes to one of my favourite holidays, Thanksgiving. I just love our family traditions made over the years, all gathering together in the beautiful Wentworth Valley for the Festival of Colours and for a delicious meal in our family log cabin. We start the day with a gorgeous hike with family and our fur babies, to a lovely breathtaking look off view, that overlooks the colourful valley. My mother packs a picnic for our destination at the look off, of tasty cheeses, cured meats, and cold brews. After the hike, we all join for a Thanksgiving feast at the cabin, we laugh, we drink and we eat our faces off! It is glorious! Towards the end the night we usually break open the board games. The Grandparents win 90% of the time.
This by far is something I am so grateful for, to have my family together. Healthy and happy!
This year, I have decided to decorate the table with a soft autumn palette. With neutrals, greens, and creams. Using dried Eucalyptus, white & green pumpkins, natural linens and fresh herbs. I love the smell of fresh sage, there is something about it that screams Thanksgiving and fall. Adding this fresh herb into the table settings adds a little colour, texture and a delicious fragrance.
Mixing my table linens and textures, I stuck to a neutral colour palette with my favourite napkins from Pier 1, adding a soft touch with its delicate lace edging details. Adding in wood textures also adds warmth to the table, while keeping everything looking soft. Incorporating textures like burlap, creates an organic and rustic look.
I always stick with simple white dishes, I feel like they act as a blank canvas for the delicious colourful food that will be presented on them.
Hope you all enjoy my Thanksgiving tablescape this year.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
